Teachers' Toolkit - Relaunch and new features coming soon

Teachers' Toolkit has successfully provided a one stop shop for teachers who wish to engage with Newcastle University since 2007. This summer we will build upon that success with a redesign and relaunch of the website.

Simon Laing, coordinator of the revamp, stated "The new version will respond to the many requests we have had from teachers. Features such as advanced searching, the ability to filter content by key stage and the addition of careers and progression information will all be available in the new version."

Oceans of Opportunity

After the success of the 2009 event, The Oceans of Opportunity event is being held for the 2nd year on Wednesday, 1st December 2010 at Newcastle University. It will be attended by an estimated 400-600 pupils aged 15-18yrs, from schools and colleges around the NE region and further afield. The 2009 event was consider to be extremely successful and very worthwhile for both Pupils and Companies.

Welcome to Teachers' Toolkit - UPDATE!

Teachers' Toolkit is a resource-bank for teachers. It helps you connect your students with cutting edge research being carried out at Newcastle University. The website contains a wealth of material including short interactive exercises, images, videos and full listings for all of the events occurring on campus.

Another great website for teachers

The university offers an extensive programme of generic student recruitment and outreach activities and events for teachers and advisers, and students from Year 6 through to Year 13 including:

  • PARTNERS Programme
  • Graduate Ambassadors
  • Students into Schools

Information on these activities and other outreach programmes can be found on the 'Information for Schools & Colleges' pages.

Meetings link teachers with academics

Newcastle University has set up two groups which provide essential links between teachers and university staff. The groups meet for 4 evenings a year and bring together school teachers from across the region with academics and administrators at the university. One group is for the Life Sciences, the other for Physical Sciences & Engineering.
